How bad does having a baby hurt??

It hurts a lot but nothing u can't handle. I'm 19 an have no pain tolerance watsoeva,  like if I get a splinter I want to be hospitalised, but I got thru it with only gas, like don't get me wrong the whole time I was in I was screamin for the epidural, but ur body is made for having a baby  n does heapps of the work. N all u have to think is I have 1 minute of intense pain where it builds up then by the time u think u can't handle it the pain starts decreasing n u have like 2mins of relaxing..n pushing it out is a breeze compared to contractions, yeh it hurts but ur so relieved to finally get it out after 10months of pregnancy an 12hours of h**l. Like doing a gigantic poo, u have bad pains then u push it out n it hurts but wen its out no more stomach pains hahaha the only way to put it...o n having a baby is so much more miracolous then doing a poo!!

A lot, its supposed to.

Its like trying to shove a huge watermelon out your bottom for 12 to 18 hours. If it was easy everyone would do it.

It's like having period cramps and diarrhea cramps at the same time except multiplied by about a million! The actual baby coming out really isn't that bad, it's the contractions that suck! Trust me, you forget about it almost immediately when you see the baby and somehow nature gives you amnesia so you keep having babies!

well if u ask me it hurts but i could do it again becuase i was only in labor for 6 hours. and my contractions started 3 minuets apart and it feels like period cramps but it hurts a little bit more.

so many people will tell you that it hurts so bad i think that is to get you prepared for the worse and think of the worst pain but its not that bad you will be waiting on the horrbileness of it all but you will soon relize its not that bad.and well worth it!

It hurts like nothing before, but it is not a dying type of pain.  you will be okay.

Get the epidural ... because then it will still probably hurt worse than anything you've ever felt before ... you may still end up yelling in agony ... but it would be worse without it. For baby #1 I felt the pain during contractions but the epidural made for a no pain delivery. For baby #2 I didn't feel most of the contractions ... but I did feel the last ones and the delivery was painful and a lot of effort (and yells).

Well i am not going to lie, it freakin hurts! But what made it different for me was i knew that there was a beginning and an end to this pain. as soon as i saw my beautiful little girl the pain went away. I remember it hurt heaps but i can't describe it!

I would do it again, and again, so i guess it's not that bad if people want to do it more than once!

First the contractions hurts 10 times worse than period cramps,  than you are pushing out a 7lb baby out of your crouch.I say it would hurt VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE... bad.

everyone has a different pain level, so it is different each time.  My granddaughter was in labor 21 hours, on Pitocin, reached 5 cm, they found the baby was breech, so she had a c-section.  She never cried, moaned, or yelled.  It IS tolorable. The end results outweigh any pain.  Have faith. You can do it.

i was so scared to have my baby but the epidural really helps so all i felt was the pressure from the contractions

Mason's mama said it right it's the contractions that KILL!! If it was so terrible people would only have one kid.

That depends upon the on the one having the baby.  Some women feel very little pain some women feel a lot of pain.

honestly I thought it felt like really really really really really bad cramps and like someone took a huge rubberband and tied it around my stomach and pulled it really really really tight

you can not describe that kind of pain, but it is not intolerable. like worst menstrual cramps multiplied by million...

my tattoos hurt worse. infact giving birth didnt hurt 1 bit. i was lucky

mason's momma is right!  thats exactly what it feels like.  pushin was the easy part (once i had the epidural)

For me it was not too bad...and I did it all natural...the contraction hurt pretty bad..but when the baby actually is coming out it does not hurt all that much.

It feel like you got to boo boo, but at the same time it feel like real strong period cramps
