  1. you will want to rip your eyeballs out

  2. I don't know how bad it hurts naturally and I don't want to know.  Epidural is my friend.  I had an epidural with both deliveries.  I tore really bad with my 1st and had tons of pressure with my 2nd, so I think I would have died to have felt that without the epidural.  I didn't poo with either pregnancy and if I did, no one told me.  I breastfeed (and breastfed my first) but I'm all for the ease of disposable diapers.

  3. It's not as easy as proponents of natural birth sometimes are trying to present it, but it's doable. With my first one I had a pudental block, which helps a lot and is not at all dangerous because it is given at the very last stage. With the second one I already knew what I was doing so I practiced in advance with relaxation techniques (Alexander technique birth book, can't recall the name), and everything was still painful but very quick. So quick they didn't even had time to put their instruments in the right order on the table :)

Not that I'm a m*******t, but the risk of C-section is much higher with epi, so I figured, I'd rather suffer a bit then get myself cut open. After all, women were doing it for thousands of years and survived it at a very decent rate.

  4. I want to know too b/c I would like to do everything without drugs!

  5. I had drugs, and I liked them.  I think you need to make your doctor aware of your decision.  But be aware and prepared for things to change.  I wanted to be natural for as long as possible, couldnt do it.  I wanted to breastfeed, didnt happen (my daughter wouldnt latch on), I wanted to use cloth, they cost so much up front.  And pooing, apparently that does happen, but you wont know it, and they expect it.  I didnt with my first, but was told I did with my second.  Oh well.

  6. ok i am pregnant too months and so it hurts bad to get it out my Friend said

  7. With my first child i did it completely natural and yes it did hurt, for me personally the contractions were alot worse than actually pushing her out.

I'm 20 weeks pregnant now and i will be doing it natural again. It is true that you do forget about the pain after it too, and not everyone poos while giving birth i didn't and my sister didn't both times so you should be alright and even so you wont be thinking about that once you are in labour. Best of luck.

  8. Everybody has a different pain tolerance and different circumstances in their birth (bigger or smaller birth canals, bigger or smaller babies, etc). In any case, there is no denying that it is going to hurt, probably much worse than anything you've ever felt in your whole life. The thing is, the outcome is amazing and totally worth it, so in the end it doesn't seem so bad. It is great to have a plan like you do, but just make sure to be prepared and okay with the possibility of a change in plans. You might get to that point and realize you do want some sort of pain relief after all. You might end up with a c-section. You just never know how things will go, and so while it is good to have a general idea of what you prefer - be flexible if needed!

As far as pooping while giving birth - yes it happens. It doesn't always happen, but it is not uncommon. All the doctors and nurses have seen it a bazillion times and so there is nothing to even worry about. They will be prepared for it and will just take it away very subtly. And you won't even notice anyways - you would probably have to ask after in order to find out if it happened or not.

  9. pooping will be the last thing on your mind..and if you do you wont even realise and no-one will tell you!!! dont be worrying about that!! I tried but couldnt do it naturally...i had gas and pethidine...it hurts but some ppl handle pain better then other..i say go for it..if you need it its always there!! you go girl!! goodluck

  10. I have had four natural births using the Bradley method.  The Bradley method uses total relaxation to help prevent uterine cramps.  You want the uterus to contract, but not cramp.  I have had lots of things that hurt worse than labor.  The pain was 5 1/2 on a scale of 1-10.  I have had arthritis pain, leg cramps, menstrual cramps, and even some hunger pains that hurt worse than labor. I never pooed with any of mine.  Your body naturally cleanses itself in early labor, so most people don't have to worry about that. Crowning really hurts, but it only lasts for a couple of minutes.
