  1. You have mild to moderate myopia.  No one ever goes blind because of myopia; myopia is not a cause of blindness.

  2. You most likely have 20/20 vision with your glasses or contacts on...that's a long ways from being blind.

No one ever went blind from myopia...

The important thing is how well you can see with your glasses, not how poorly you see without them.

  3. Hi

You can get detailed information on eye sight at www.contactlensesexpress.co.uk

  4. No I know someone who had -7 eyesight and they wore contacts. If your worried though go and see the optician they can examine your eyes see if there is anything wrong.

  5. That is what my eyesight was at 19.  20 years later, it is now -7.00

Don't wear your contacts each day.  That is the biggest mistake I made.

  6. No, not considered blind, but it will probably be compulsory for you to wear glasses while driving.  I am now -2.5, and was very surprised to be told that legally I have insufficient vision for driving without glasses, especially as distance, even near distance, is not a problem.  It is the reading of the fine print just under my nose (or newspapers, or the information on the dashboard) that I find fuzzy without my prescribed lenses.

Protect what sight you still have with lutein supplements, and fruit with dark blue or purple colours.

  7. You have moderate myopia. I am 44 and have a -6.00. I am not going blind, just extremely near sighted. I wear contacts and I have several pairs of glasses.
