How bad is it to fake something on my resume?

I am a manager. I have been one for a year. How bad would it be to stretch it out for another year so I can get a better management job?

Everyone does it, I say go for it. Resumes are made to make yourself look good so do just that.

Honesty is the best policy. If you should lie and your employer finds out what do you think will happen? Don't forget they do background checks(past employers and criminal).

It's wrong and you will likely get fired if you get caught.

lying on an application or resume is legal grounds for immediate dismissal.  In some government and government contract companies, it can be criminal and lead to charges filed against you.
