Question:

How bad is it to have mold growing on the walls where your hot water heater is??

i found a wet spot on the carpet of my apartment and called the manager she came told me it wasn't mold i know it is and all she did was spray some bleach and then left it it's where our cool air blows out and what not so how bad is that???

  1. Sounds like your a/c unit is not draining its condensation. It also may be mildew and not mold. Home Depot sells a mold test kit for about $20 in the plumbing dept. Test it. Your Apt manager sounds like a genuinely bad person. Test it, and if it shows positive, have a pro come out and retest. Then sue the h**l out of your apartment complex.


  2. Not too good at all. Mold anywhere in your house is not good. If left to grow it can become hazardous to your health. Especially if it is being blown through your air ducts. Call your city home inspector or health department if the manager refuses to have someone come in and fix the problem. Don't wait it only gets worse with time.
