How bad is it when someone online that you dont know found your phone number?

Depends what they do with it? They might ring and text you and pester you loads. BUT if worst comes to worst. you can ring up your network provider and block the number that keeps ringing you :)

It's fairly easy to find peoples phone numbers on the internet.

you would have to give that person your phone number, otherwise there's no way that person would find out. I am guessing that things turned ugly and you want to back out. You would have to tell that person not to call you again, otherwise you would have to change your number.

Buy a new sim card, i believe you should never chat with strangers online, how did he get your number, there are ways you can get it online but did he go it to all that hassle.
