Question:

How bad is the Russia/Georgia situation getting? Why aren't any networks even mentioning it?

I'm a little confused as to how 1500 people can die in a single day due to military aggressions by one nation on another [one being a US ally] and nobody seems to be taking this situation seriously.

It would seem other countries in the region are starting to pick sides....kinda like WWI started....a nothing country starts a HUGE war...this script sounds way too familiar.

  1. here's an updated article from Yahoo!.

I don't know why networks aren't mentioning it.

  2. I was going to ask the same thing!! I was surfing the web to try and find out what started this whole mess. The USA is allies with Georgia and We (Bush) blames Russia for the conflict, but not one single reason has been given. Georgia is very small and I don't understand their political position.

  3. I don't know. It seems like in America, international incidents get far less coverage then they would get if they happened in America. For example the tsunami in Southeast Asia a few years ago - it was far worse then Hurricane Katrina, yet got only a fraction of the coverage. People just don't care as much if it happens outside our borders. They're not interested. It's ridiculous. :( Plus, the Olympics are dominating the news right now, so that might limit coverage of the Russia/Georgia situation.

  4. I did see it on one of the networks but you're right..they didn't really cover it in depth and I am not sure what's going on.  I did see that Georgia was suppose to be one of our allies and than there is Russia but I thought that the USA was ok with them as well...This is definitely not a good situation and lots of people are dying for nothing...
