I'm going to a concert in L.A. tomorrow (Wednesday) and were leaving at 3 p.m. will we make it there my 6 pm? Its at the Gibson Amphitheatre, which is right next door to Universal Studios if that helps any.

  1. I hate driving through L.A. it seems like it doesn't matter what time of day, there's always traffic. But lately I've been noticing that the 5 isn't as congested as it used to be. Maybe it's because I've been going towards Anaheim more and noticed how terrible it is when you get on the 91, 55, 57 whatever it is, hate that area, even the 15 going north is getting bad.

The last time I drove to L.A. around 3pm we arrived at Mission Viejo or Laguna Nigel, can't seem to remember but we got there around 4:00 or so. I have no idea how much further Universal Studios is so I couldn't tell you if you're going to make it. It's Wednesday I'm thinking 3 hours would be plenty.

  2. Probably as bad as Calgary to Airdrie.

  3. It's bad.  See if you can use Metrolink/Amtrak (Universal City has a red line subway station).

If you are driving, then leave by 2 at the latest.

  4. An old LA saying I-5 at 5-don't be near El Toro Marine base.  Leave at least an hour earlier to get there. If you're too early, get a cup of coffee and relax, it's better than rushing with shattered nerves.
