How bad it is!what should I do?

In China,malversation is very popular.Nearly all the official have lined their pockets by taking bribes.For example,if you want to find a job in a government office,you must bribe the leader.The one who have no large number of money to bribe the leaders will lead a dogs life.

What about the US?

Its almost the same, but instead of bribes they give party donations or donations for campaigns and in turn they lobby in favour of what the donor wants half the time.

Just the same really only one is legal and the other is not.

Not in my experience, if you have good Guanxi or have links to somebody with good Guanxi then you do not need to pay a bribe.

It also helps to have a good education. Even a poor man can do well with a good education. If you make your boss look good then your boss will gain face.

I am not naive enough say that there is no bribery in the USA, but it is neither systemic nor endemic.

Police officers and public officials who get caught taking money are dismissed from their jobs and punished by the law.

The USA is not China.  China is not perfect, and neither is the USA.  It is safe to say, however, that the government system in the USA is somewhat more accountable to the people who matter--the taxpayers and the ordinary citizens.

It is as everywhere a matter of skills, chance , luck: I have friends that started with a peasant hukou from the middle of nowhere and now earns 30-40 k Rmb per month. Guanxi and smartness can earn you more than bribes and are way less dangerous

Yes there's such problem in China. It's getting better, but still it's terrible.

By not doing anything you are keeping the dictatorship in power. All the Chinese all around the world (Yes, that includes YOU!) are at fault for their inaction. It is in their own self-interest as they take advantage of ethnic minorities to make even more money for themselves.
