How bad of a cockroach problem does Puerto Rico have?

We are considering a trip to Puerto Rico, but my wife has an immense terror of cockroaches. Especially the big flying type... What we want to know is the type of cockroaches in Puerto Rico, and more importantly, how often and where do you see them.
