How bad would it be if I opened a stock account, put in my real SSN but lied about my birthday?

  1. You are not opening a blockbuster account! This is serious, if you lie about yourself, be ready for the consequences.


  2. Go ahead if you have no moral standing, or have a total disregard for the laws that governing the securities industry.

    If you're going to play the game at least have the common decency to play by the rules everyone else is willing to follow.

    There are services that all U.S.brokerage firms subscribe to that could pick up your age, If so, the firm would be provided with the information which would provide documentation to criminal fraud.

    Your account could be liquidate, all prior trades could be canceled from your account you would not keep any profits that accumulate, and you would be liable for any and all losses.  This could occur since you violated the provisions of the Securities Act of 1934 in that you gave false information defining yourself as a bonefide customer.

  3. Criminal fraud.

    Especially if you're lying about your birthday because you're under 18.

  4. I think "A Nobody" gave you some sound advice.

    All social security numbers are checks by U,S broker/dealers and you could get caught, not saying you will but....  don't be a smuck


  5. No big deal, who would know...but why in world would you want to do that?  

  6. You might have trouble getting your money back.  The birthdate is part of your identification.
