In the past year I have had 3 NSF's after using my debit card, how badly does this affect my credit? I paid them all back before within 5 days after receiving notice.

  1. won;t be reported at all - only if you never made good on them and the bank closed your acct-you're fine

  2. NFS's dont do anything to your credit unless you dont pay them and the bank sends it to collections.

  3. not really. they will only really affect your credit if your account is charged off.

  4. Your bank doesn't report NSF checks to the credit bureaus so it has no affect on your credit.

Too many NSFs could get your account closed and you put in the ChexSystem, making it very difficult to get another bank account.

  5. ~~It will not affect your credit in any way. It will only harm you if they close your  account and charge off the debt. What you have done will keep everything fine.~~

  6. Not terribly much but it's not a nice way to go. Rubber checks cost you a good deal in the end.
