How badly does being shot with a paintball gun hurt?

I used to paintball when I was around 14, now I'm 16, but back then someone used a $2,000 gun, with nitrogen and managed to sneak in paint balls, and he shot me from 10 feet away. I have been fearful ever since, but I want to start paint balling again with friends. Please compare it to other pain experiences, such as being pinched, etc.

Well I would totally say its worse than being pinched. Way worse. Here's why I am never ever going paintballing- Once upon a time I went to a summer camp for a week, and one day they had this mega-relay race that had us running all over the camp doing stuff. One of the things we had to do was get 10 people under a tarp and have them walk around getting shot from like twenty-five feet away with paintballs. Every single person that did it ended up with the biggest welts I've ever seen, even though they were covered by clothing and the paintballs had to go through the tarp. So if you think you can take that, go ahead.

Depends how well you can handle pain and the quality of the paintball gun. I've been shot with cheapie paintball guns and it doesnt hurt that much if you wear protective gear.
