How beneficial is learning to dance?

I'm thinking of taking dance lessons (Tango) and I'm wondering how it is to being able to dance. I heard you have to put a lot of time and effort into it. But is it worth it?

  1. for the exercise and the healthy body alone people should dance.

    you will tighen and tone and look great!


  2. it's great! dancing increases you endurance and tones you down a whole heck of a lot.

    plus it's great exercise that makes you feel energized afterwards because you accomplished another movement or routine; so definitely a confidence booster.

    You can express yourself by releasing your stress + emotions thru your movements.

    and in the end, you have bragging rights + the skills that most ppl don't have to perform

  3. omg r u kiding it is sooooooo worth it i love dancing i basically breath it well first start out small try like maybe one night a week if you like it add another night and maybe even another it will also boost your confidence its a way to express yourself and just a tip try ballet its not the most thrilling but if you want to be a serious dancer it will make you stronger    have fun

  5. Everyone of us need to be creative. We all need to express ourselves - whether it's dance, art, or sports. It helps balance our psyche. We all do things to fulfill the void we sometimes feel in our soul.

    Tango is great, to really dance the Tango, you need to express passion. It's just not movement, but it let us express our sensuality. Anything that will make you happy or fulfill is worth it. Ballroom Dance school survive on people signing up, so, be aware - that a lot of times, they have people sign up and give a lot of promises - which, ending up costing a lot of money. Do your homework about the school first, and avoid signing for such a long term - even if you plan to, anyway. Collegiate school that offer Ballroom is a good place to start and study. For inspiration rent some movies like Strictly Ballroom, Tango, Shall we dance, The Tango Lesson...

  6. I'd say it's worth it. Getting yourself in anything proactive is going to be worth it in the long run. B'sides, you'll use the dancing at some point in your life.

    It's fun, and a great way to get some exercise. :D
