  1. Your plan is not good because you are trying to see too much.  The result will be that you see very little.

On arrival in Milan, immediately take the train to Rome and spend all your time there (it will not be long enough!).

You will find lots of helpful information on our web site: http://www.thetravelzine.com

Have a wonderful trip (we arrived yesterday and will stay until mid-March)!

Good journey!!

  3. The plan is as good as what you want depending on the time and places you want to visit. I notice that you missed Florence/Pisa and that has to be important ...... but time may be your constraint. However, I can't comment further on that, except that reducing travelling time and staying in convenint places is the key.

Travelling overnight by train is always a good move, but you can end up feeling unclean, so sometimes folks prefer to take a shower and stay in a hotel for a decent nights sleep. Even if you are booking sleeping compartments.

The train journey's are short, so you might consider splitting the journey int oa bit of night time journey's and a night or two for a wash and thorough sleep, in order that you are feeling fresh to enjoy.

There are places for all budgets available on this directory for accomodation in Rome , Milan and Venice:

You didn't mention what type of traveller you are, but here goes with some things to think about .... good luck

  4. you can't visit all that! rome-venice is too long (5h by the fastest train) and venice is still far from milan. you'll end up to see nothing at all in venice.

by the way in milan there isn't that much to see...the famous cathedral of milan, the "duomo" is packed for works!

so i'd suggest you to spend as less time as possible. than you should probably choose: rome or venice.

if you go to rome, you should also spend a day in florence (wonderful city) because it's on the way to milan.

if you go to venice, you should also go and visit verona (the city of romeo and juliet) because it's on the way to milan.

i'd suggest you to go milan-rome-florence, but it's just my opinion. i adore those places.
