  1. Usually a small suitcase or a duffel bag. If you already have your reservations made, then go check out the airline you're flying from. Example. IF you're flying out of Delta Airlines, you'd go to Delta.com


  2. You better check the webiste of the airline you are going to fly with. Each airline has different criterias, some accept 5kg, others 10kg and the sizes are different as well. So as there is no general rule, its safer to contact the airline directly.

  3. your better off checking the regulations on the website of the airlines your flying because everyone is different.

  4. You have to check with your airline's website. It should have the maximum dimension that your carry-on is allowed to be. Each airline is different. =)

  5. Majority of them are 45 linear inches.  You add the heights + Width + Length and not to exceed 45 inches.  

    But to be on the safe side,  check with the individual airlines.
