  1. Diving boards vary in height, and the specific height used depends on the level of competition and the type being persued.

there are five official diving board heights which are:

1 Meter springboard (about 3 feet 3 inches above the surface of the water)
3 Meter springboard (about 9 feet 9 inches above the surface of the water)
5 meter platform    (about 16 feet 4 inches above the surface of the water)
7.5 meter platform  (about 24 feet 6 inches above the surface of the water)
10 meter platform   (about 32 feet 8 inches above the surface of the water)

In the olympics the boards you see being used to compete on are the 3 meter springboard + the 10 meter platform.

Generally you will find that publically accesible diving facilities will annoyingly only allow users to use no higher than the 5 meter platform, due to 7.5 & 10 meter platform being more dangerous if you do not enter the water vertically.

    i hope this helps
