How big can I blow a 6.1 megapixl pic up to without losing quality?

I'm looking to buy an SLR camera But not sure what to get.

Easy.

My first professional DSLR had a 6MP sensor and I have had 20x30 inch prints made with no issues.

If this was a P&S camera, then a 6MP sensor would be very limited ... that is because the sensors on DSLR's are over 15 times larger than P&S cameras.

You just have to shoot at your cameras highest resolution; shoot in RAW if you want to be sure to be able to print the largest possible print sizes.

I have prints from my 6 mp camera that are 24 X 36 inches and there is no visible grain.
