How big do Crocodiles get?

I know the story of a giant crocodile being killed by the army in New Orleans after Katrina was a hoax but, is it possible for one to actually be that large?

Yes. It's possible for them to be that large. I found the one you mentioned, and it was 16+ feet long, photographed in Africa.

A lot of big croc's have been reported, but only the ones that have been measured by a reliable person can be officially recorded. There are two officially recorded ones that are over 20 feet in length.

The first was a 20.3 foot (6.2 m) saltwater crocodile that became entangled in a fishing net set on the Mary River in the Northern Territory of Australia in 1974. The owners of the net killed the crocodile with an axe and removed the head, but it was eventually discovered by wildlife rangers and the separate head and body measured. The second crocodile was also 20.3 feet (6.2 m) long, and was killed by local villagers living on the Fly River in Papua New Guinea in 1983."

Well, I've never heard that story, and crocodiles don't live in Florida.

Well, crocs can grow 2 various sizes. Salt water croc can be be like 6-10ft  If an animal ends up with giantism they end up growing abnormally large. this however this is rare.
