  1. They have been known to grow 32 feet around and up to 105 feet tall. There are smaller varieties that grow smaller. They can live to be 200 or more years old and they grow slowly.

  2. massive

  3. Big enough to hang LOTS of Yellow Ribbons on.

    LOLOL!

  4. 5cm

  5. Oak trees are a hard wood, they take longer to mature, but they are a very tall tree very tall...like a squirrel would have to pack a lunch to get to the top.

  6. Oak trees can live 200 or more years. The largest oak tree of record is the Wye oak in the community of Wye Mills in Talbot County on Maryland's eastern shore in the U.S.A. It is believed to be more than 400 years old, and it measures 9 meters (~ 32 feet) in circumference, it is 31 meters (~ 105 feet) tall with a crown spread of 48.1 meters (~ 158 feet).

  7. It depends where they are planted, not so tall if they are on their own (60 feet). If they are in a forest and drawn up by surrounding trees then much taller (130feet)

  8. Very.

  9. Oaks are some of the most varied species out there.  We have small oaks and BA oaks.  There are so many oaks I couldn't even list them all here.  If you see a tree in the city it's most likely an oak.

I lived in an apartment complex in central Texas that had small oaks around its buildings.  The trees were no larger than fruit trees--30 feet tall--and provided just enough shade for a small table, but I have also hiked in beautiful central coastal California where hiking trails were shaded by giant live oaks.

There is no tree more beautiful than the oak.
