Only a few inches. I have a female betta that is 3-4 inches long. They naturally live in rice paddies and puddles during the dry season, so they are much smaller than those. Check some pics out on Google Images, search "Betta."

max 3 inches...usually what you get in the store is almost their adult size...cud just grow half an inch more than what you buy...of course unless you got a lil fry...
