  1. That depends on whether you want to have baby beets or fully grown beets.  I prefer to harvest them when the leaves are at least a foot high.

    If you want to save yourself from backbreaking work, especially on hot, humid days, try the Roottub.  It was specially designed to take the work out of harvesting root veggies.  You just plant your beets as you normally do, then when it's time to harvest them, just pull the 2 ends of the Roottub down, and the soil just falls away, exposing the beets.    LIke the ad says, there's no kneeling, digging, pulling or broken roots.  Pretty nifty.  Let me know what you think.
