  1. Naturally, it depends on the age. Where I live in Arkansas, we have many pecan trees and most are about 18" across. Takes a number of years to get this large though.


  2. Pecan tree trunks can grow quite large, especially in the south. I have seen numerous pecans with trunks of at least 24 inches diameter. Of course, pecan trees stop bearing fruit after a certain age, but they do continue to grow and make beautiful shade trees. I have a friend who has several dozen older pecans on his property and they are all at least two feet in diameter.
