  1. 10 gallons, the red tailed shark woudlnt do well with a betta, but it will maybe do well with 2 or 3 FEMALE bettas, female bettas like eachothrs company. male bettas ca only live with peaceful fish that dont have long flowy fins that migh resemble another male betta. the cant be with any male or female bettas either they can be with mollies platties short finned tetras neon tetras and others that are peaceful, not fin nippers and don have long fins! hoped i helped!

  2. They have to be in at least a ten gallon tank. I think they'll get along with Betas, because although they've earned the name " shark" they just kind of eat the food at the bottom.

Beta fish are known to fight their own species unless two betas, male and female, are ready to spawn. But, they are exceptionable to be kept with a big selection of fish. Tetras,Barbs,Danios,Plecos and Corydoras can get along with them. They can also get along with Mollies,Guppies,Platies, and Swordtails. They're very peaceful fish that will get along with a lot of fish just as long as it's not one of their own. Also, they don't get along with any long finned fish. They might in some cases but, it a good risk you'll have to take.

Hope this helped answer your question. Good Luck!!!!! =]

  3. I don't think there are any types of fish that get along well with bettas.  Bettas are supposed to be solitary, and will be extremely aggressive toward other fish.

Red Tail Sharks get to be about half a foot long, so you'll want at least a 10 gallon tank.  If you're planning on adding more fish, then add about 1 gallon of water for each inch of fish.

You'll need larger fish so the Shark won't attack them.  I'd suggest any type of Pleco, since they get to be about the same size, or larger, and are extremely easy fish to raise and are not sensitive to water conditions.

  4. You need a big tank for any type of shark, at least 200l/4ft long.
