How big is Great Island in Cork Harbour?

I've looked everywhere and I can't find it's area at all. Is it an Irish state secret??

I looked it up on Google maps, did a few measurements and came up with just over 18 square kilometres, or about 7 square miles.  You can try it yourself and see if you get a similar answer.

Go to http://maps.google.com/ and type in "Cobh".

Cobh? It's a small town. Well, there's Cork Harbour which is in Cork City, then there's Great Island, which is where Cobh Harbour is. I'd say Cobh Harbour is bigger that Cork Harbour. They get navy ships and cruise ships in etc, but I'm no expert so I don't really know how it compares to harbours elsewhere in the world.
