How big is a 24 karat diamond wedding ring?

I don't know much about diamonds, but someone I know said that she has one. And how much is it worth?

It is very unlikely such a diamond that large would be mounted on a ring.

More likely the reference was to the quality of the gold used for the ring. In Gold, karat refers to purity. 24 karat gold is 100% gold, whereas 14 karat gold is like 56 or 58%.

24 karats is freaking huge.  i sincerly doubt she has that unless that is 24 karats total weight. even then it will still be huge....you sure it wasnt 2.4 and you just misread it or she misstyped it or something?http://toronto.fashion-monitor.com/news....

She probably means 24 kt gold, not a 24 kt diamond. One...it would cost in the millions and two...it would be about the size of a baseball.
