  2. did i understand you question how many hectareas are in a square mile  a mile is 1609 m multiply by 1609 = 2588881 square meters divide by 10000 square m= hecarea = 258.88 hectareas and the measure  is for farming, ranching ans and a national research council  or 0.0039 sq miles= 1 hectarea

  3. We are still hung up using the pointless measure the are 100 sq metres.  But in many parts of the metric world  we use the sq km. or the sq metre.

There is no use value  in having a measure like an are. Nobody at all uses it. So the only reason for using hectare is that our municipal registry lists our land in hectares... one very imprecise measurement. When we went from acre to hectare we lost so much precision.

When the USA finally goes metric, make sure that you do not make that mistake. even if it means doing precise surveys, get the unit down to sq metre.

By the way, square mile is an even worse loss of precision.

  4. There are 259 hectares in a square mile.

I'll leave you to do the maths!
