Don't say "big enough". I'm trying to learn and IDK where they have any parallel parking spots in my town (I live in NH, I don't know if that makes a difference)

I want to measure out a spot in my street and mark it off with traffic cones and/or chalk. How big should i make it?

  1. Most states will be between 24 to 26 feet long and good luck.

  2. Smart move.  Depends.  Most places I believe it's 21 feet.

In San Francisco, it's 6" longer than your car, and on a steep hill, lol!

  3. Figure about 4 feet longer than your car. You might want to first try six feet longer and then reduce the length as you get more confident. basically it's pretty hard to park parallel with less than two feet of extra space. that would be a tight spot.
