Did ``mother`` Yahoo alow-me to put this time this question,or is this a ``tabu´´question?And i am a troll and a enemy of Greece and humanity,because i dare to ask this,to chalenge the last ``pure blood race``on earth?

According to the 2001 Census 36 000 were declared themselves as Pomaks (Slavic-speaking Muslims) and 54 000 are declared as Turks (actually most of them are also Pomaks)

About 200 000 Vlachs (Aromanians)

You r not an enemy, ur trying only 2 b provocative in a silly manner.

Greece does have minorities (religious, ethnic etc) but most probably, most peolpe living in Greece identify themselves as being Greek, no matter what.

For example, if you make any research about the Greek participation on the Balkan Wars &amp; WWI, you ll c that by far the greatest contibution 2 the Greek war effort  was done by the Battleship &quot;AVEROV&quot;. The islands of the Aegean Sea are liberated today only due to this warship which managed alone to keep at bay all the Turkish fleet. Do u know why the ship was named like that? Because it was bought by the Greek goverment with the money donated by a person called Averov who made a fortune in Egypt. It was the most modern &amp; powerfull of all the ships of the Balkan states &amp; it was so expensive that the Greek Goverment could not afford to buy it. Why did this man gave all this amount of money ? (the name &quot;Averov&quot; does not sound very Greek, does it?) No matter if he spoke Greek fluently or had a Greek name, he was feeling being Greek &amp; he is one of the most important donators Greece ever had.

If some people want to believe that they are not Greeks, they have every right 2 do so, because Greece (in great contrast 2 some of its neighbours) is a acivilised &amp; democratic country. In the Greek Parliament there are people from the muslim minority (belonging to the Pomac, Roma &amp; Turkish race). A party supporting the rights of the &quot;Macedonian&quot; minority in Greece, tried a couple of times to run ithe elections, but managed 2 fetch no more than 3.000 votes (most of them not in Northern Greece, but in island of Creta &amp; elsewhere).

You can do a google research on the numbers of the Roma and the muslims (Turks, Roma and Pomaks) in Thrace.

Vlachs in Greece have refused to be classified as an ethnic minority. Arvanites and Albanians are not the same thing. But I&#039;m sure you already know this...

Why do you people get so defensive when someone asks about minorities? By the way, I have to answer this guy who mentioned Kosovo, don&#039;t make any judgments before you know the situation. Why would Kosovo stay in Serbia? All the other countries escaped from them, even Montenegro which is orthodox and shares the same culture. Don&#039;t you think that was for a reason?

There is no minorities in Greece! When you will understand that? We are cleaning our countries from everyone who feels  non Greek for decades!!! So today Greece is clean and white (except of the us-we are little dark because we came from Ethiopia). most countries in the world have minorities, if you are interested in minorities let me tell you that there are historical greek minorities in countries like albania, southern russia, geogria, ukraine, southern italy and sicily. there were also in egypt, bulgaria and fyrom but they were send away, some by treadies and some by force. there was a pontic greek minority in turkey and the turks have commit a genocide against them.

Vlachos I dont know cause Vlachos in Greece are self- identified as Greeks.Just with different customs.same goes as for pontic Greeks.

Albanian minority does not exist because Albanians here live as    

immingrants ,the minority exists  with residents with citizenship.

Albanian immigrants though are 600.000 ( the legal ).

and to solve your curiosity there is a Jewish minority also which is about 5.500 jews.

Irony is a Greek word and it looks like your question is full of it.  Of course modern Greeks are nothing like the ancient Greeks but then again not many countries live on trees.  At least we,  the Greeks,  have a history and no matter how hard you try you cannot take it.  Just keep in mind that other countries have interest in using your people against Greek people because of MONEY.  Wake up and co-operate with your neighbors.  When in need WE WILL HELP YOU.  Turkish people helped us and we helped them in their need.

The albanians in greece are legal (or not) immigrants who are working here

Vlachs and Romas don&#039;t consider them selves minorities
