  1. How big is Vancouver? Big enough that you'll never run out of things to do. Actually, it's a lot less boring than Toronto - it's more open, has a more laid-back lifestyle, has 'waaaaay more outdoor activities and has things to do all year round. You can ski in the morning, go sailboating in the afternoon. And you can't do that in Toronto....

  2. Vancouver is like a 'british columbian' new york...

    You'll like it...

  3. Its big enough so that it shouldnt be boring, but it is a bit smaller than Toronto.

  4. Well if it's Vancouver,WA then there is alot to do!!! I used to live there but if it's Canada I have no idea

  5. I've lived in both Vancouver and Toronto, and I find there is tons to do in Vancouver, almost more than Toronto because the weather is better and there is so much green space. I found that the people in Vancouver had a lot more of a 'get up and go' attitude, and were always up for something. There's all the same things you find in Toronto in terms of good theatre, sports teams, shopping, clubs, etc, but there's beaches right in the downtown and a fantastic path along the water for walking/biking/rollerblading. Whistler is an easy day trip for skiing and hiking. There are good markets and tons and tons of cafes and restaurants.  It is a smaller city and there won't be quite as much selection as Toronto, but most people in Toronto stick to their one little neighbourhood anyway. I don't think you'll be bored.

    Good luck!

  6. Nikki mentioned the Rockies.  The Rockies do not extend west to Vancouver.   The mountain range in which Vancouver is located is called the Coast(al) Range.  A long way from the Rockies.  As far as is there anything to do?  Only your imagination or lack thereof will limit you.  Indoor stuff like bars, clubs, gyms, arts, entertainmnent - lots of options.  Outdoor stuff like hiking, biking, jogging, golfing, skiing, boating, laying around on the beach - lots of options.  You will not find Vancouver to be boring in comparison to the big smoke.  The population of Metro Vancouver is about 2.5 million.

  7. well considering you have the rockies right there with plenty to do on them.  A huge city you've never lived in before and the ocean not too far I think you'll be able to find PLENTY to do.  And it is large, not quite the size of toronto but fairly large.

  8. I moved from Toronto to Vancouver, in 1991.  It was boring, I can not emphasize how boring.  But, it has changed so much, and it is not that I have become used to it.

It has changed, and so much for the better.

Too bad that on my last two visits to the big Toronto, my home town, I can see it changing for the worse.

  9. Vancouver is cleaner  See  tourismvancouver and hellobc

  10. its the prettiest city in Ca nada. if you like the water you will love it. not big as toronto but it has a lot of entertainment.

  11. Its the third biggest city in Canada so it should be big enough to not be boring.

  12. When you get here you'll see its not just Vancouver, alot of our major cities are side by side, Richmond, Van, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge,  Port Moody, Langley, Surrey, White Rock, Twassen, Delta, North and west Vancouver all make up the GVRD (Greater Vancouver Regional District) and the Fraser Valley just east of Van has Mission, Chilliwack and Abbotsford. There is no lack of stuff to do and Vancouver Island is only a ferry ride away the Okanagan is a four hour drive away and anyone that ever comes out from back east usually doesn't want to leave. I've been all across Canada and BC is by far the most beautiful and entertaining.
