  1. he is a shade over 5 ft,when he appears on the tv he stands on a box to help him against the impressive ms balding.When he does his walking the course routine at Ascot he looks only as big as the running rail and if the grass was any taller we would not see him.very funny guy and he was a top,top jockey.

    I've not met Willie, but I have met Clare Balding on a few occasions, and she is not as big as youo think!  The TV camera adds a few pounds and standing next to Willie makes her look taller than she really is!
