  1. For an adult ball....generally stay coiled up for the most part. However, depending on the size of the adult a 30 gal or 35 gal is fine. Even a 20 gallon would be sufficient. But make sure if it's a 20 you take him out to stretch. You usually want it long enough to allow the snake to stretch out. Hope this helps.

  2. I would have about a 6 foot by 3 foot cage.

  3. In general, you want an enclosure that is as wide as one-half of the length of the snake. If you're looking for an aquarium, you will need a pretty large one, so make sure that you get one made especially for reptiles rather than fish, because they are much lighter. Because ball pythons do not need high cages, some people even keep them in those Rubbermaid contains for storage under beds.

Here is a care sheet reptile specialty store Reptilia in Toronto, which provides specific recommendations for ball python care: http://www.reptilia.org/care_sheets/snak...

  4. Ball Pythons are not a climbing snake and therefore need more floorspace than height.  I had an adult Ball Python that maxed out at 5 1/2 ft that was very comfortable in a 55 gallon aquarium.

  5. minimum of a 40 gallon but 50-60 is better
