How big of a hockey net should i get for a 13 year old?

A 13 year old with a heavy and hard slapshot/wrist shot wants a hockeynet and I dont know how big of a hockey net to get him, please either put a link or tell me the size, where I can buy one, etc. Thanks

  1. a regular size net, why get any other kind since thats the one he will be using. also you wont have to shell out for another one right away


  2. I'm not sure on this, but wouldn't you want to practice shooting on a net-size that he would use at a game? A sports store...

  3. 6x4 + definately get one with steel .. pvc will crack faster than ice in Hawaii .. do you have a budget? Several companies advertise in USA Hockey's monthly publication ..

  4. 4x6 is the official size and what your son should be practicing on.  You can buy targets or the cutout goalie to help him improve his accuracy as well.  

    Don't buy the plastic ones, buy the heaviest steel one you can, but they can get really really heavy.
