  1. Answering part of your question we are already hurting the animal population.  We are taking over their natural habitat to build our 500,000.00$ homes; people freak out when they see a bear in their yard.  This was the bears home before it was ever a humans.  And we have been doing this forever.  Why do you think there are more and more reports of wild animals in the cities.  We have taken away their food, their habitats, their water.  So called experts try to move them when people are put out by these animals making an appearance but we put them out.  And then there are the really stupid ones who leave dumpsters open at camping/RV parks and can't understand why a coyote, wolf, bear, bobcat, puma shows up and some poor child ends up being dinner.

If you haven't watched the news lately it is already to late on how many farms can support us.  The US with one of the worlds largest arigcultular areas in the world is running out of rice a main staple in the food groups.  In my opinion we can blame our government in the 80's taking away the farms from the farmers in the midwest, giving them loans the government knew they could never repay.

  2. So are you talking about a Utopian model, a Communist model, or what?

First you need to get a new species of humans.  The ones I know have canine teeth, which are just wonderful for eating meat.  Once you have bred these cow-people, the question is what are you going to do to keep the rest of the animal population in check?  If the animal population is not to be harmed, that means that we are not using pesticides and we are letting other animals eat our crops.

I'm guessing that the answer is 0.
