How big of an age difference do you think is a problem?

I have a friend who's 18 and she's really interested in this guy who is 26. They've worked together for 2 months and have just recently hooked up a couple of times (no farther than making out) after wards. I think she really wants to get involved with this guy, but she doesn't think her parents would approve. She keeps coming to me to talk about it, and I keep telling her to make sure that she really likes him first because of the age difference and the maturity level is so different. Another friend she talks to keeps telling her that you can't help who you like and to go for it. I've also never even met him, so I haven't had a chance to judge his character. What do you guys think of the situation?

Age isn't of importance. What matters in a relationship is trust, communication, and understanding. If they are a good match things will work out for them, if not they learn and take that knowledge to the next relationship.

Besides eight years is hardly anything to scoff at. The only problem I could foresee is that he might be looking for a wife and a mother to his children, while she is still young and those aren't on her lists of things to do right now. However, if they both have discussed the future and have agreed on what they want, then there is no real issue there.

She either needs to get serious and let her family know, or let him go so he can find someone who truly wants him and isn't afraid of acknowledging their relationship.

Oh my god that's nothing I have had and have girls 15 to 19years younger than me as a rule.  Its not shocking at all.  Guys take till there in there late 20's to early 30 's to actually grow up.  When a young girl dates an older man she's getting a MAN not a boy...  Ask me when you have a 18yo girl and a 70 year old dirty old man.

age is no barrier if you are a couple and are in love then the age is going to be a problem look at some of the celebrities
