Question:

How bizarre do you find these latest assumptions by McCain's supporters?

Fact: Palin has no experience whatsoever on the national scene.

McCain supporters?

"She's been an executive for an x-amount of years and that's good enough for us!"

Fact: Palin was once the mayor of 6,000 people in the town of Wissala, Alaska. (Don't look at me. Even though I was born in Anchorage 34 years ago, I *never* heard of this place before.)

McCain supporters: "She's had many dealings with the Russians." (She has? Since when does a small town like Wissala ever rate that high on the foreign affairs agenda of any Russian envoy? They must be short on moose-burgers again.)

Fact: Palin's only served 20 months as governor of Alaska.

McCain supporters: "Governorship is more IMPORTANT than being a senator! You have to be a governor first before you become a senator! That trumps any experience by either Obama or Biden!"

(Since when???)

I hate to tell you this, but none of the current governors in my state of Washington had to run as senator first before they became governor.

So how does all this give Palin the credibility she needs to become the nation's first female vice-president?

It doesn't. McCain's supporters just don't have all their facts straight.

I think it's because of her glaring LACK OF EXPERIENCE--that has sent them into a major tizzy--which in turn forced them to try and "reinvent" the governor of Alaska into something she's clearly not:

Qualified to be vice-president.

Biden is, but not Palin.

I just wonder why McCain's supporters refuse to see this as the truth?

  1. Palin was chosen purely to make it appear that the Republicans are presenting a broad front (Ala The Obama-Biden team), when in fact all they are doing presenting yet another candidate drawn straight from the Republican base

Palin is d**k Cheney in a dress. She's a grade A neo-con. She goes moose hunting, she's pro-life, and she can barely tell the difference between a Serbian and a Saudi. She has more in common with women voter's husbands than women voters.

Palin has no foreign policy experience, and what experience she does have can best be described boondock management. She has less experience of the fast moving modern world than Obama does, and is a million miles from being Biden.

  2. i really think the experience thing is a dead issue at this point, both tickets has inexperienced people on it.

  3. ummm....sure, obama's been a senator for a few years, but what the h**l has he done? NOTHING. he's spent most of it campaigning for president, just voting "present" on every piece of legislation presented to him, and what has he put forth in the senate? again, NOTHING.

while she may have a lack of experience overall, she certainly does have more experience doing anything when compared to Obama. plus, while she hasn't been in politics long, she already has a track-record of being willing to do what's right and put citizens above government, which is more than either obama or biden can say.

in summary, the GOP's choice of vice-president, has more experience than the democrats' choice for president. how sad is that?

...and you do not have to be a governor before a senator. get your facts straight.

I consider myself a moderate, not wanting to affiliate with either party, but liberals tend to exaggerate things and make stuff up. really, now...come up with an argument based on facts and not just assumptions. please. it'll make things more interesting.

  4. They are doing exactly what Obama supporters do when confronted with an uncomfortable truth about him, attempting to distract from it's focus.  And, no, they pretty much can't see the truth, any more than a supporter of any person or thing can.  Studies have shown that if you believe in a thing, evidence to the contrary will be dismissed or discounted so that it doesn't interfere with your beliefs.  That's just politics.  Most people make up their minds about a candidate in the first few minutes, and whatever happens after that will not affect their opinion.

  5. Palin is qualified. she was born in America and is over the age of 35... oh,I mean she is eligible. She seems to be a nice lady. Nice looking and energetic. but Alaska is basically a wilderness and doesn't have the dynamics of the lower 48. She has no experience in dealing with urban issues such as education, poverty, outsourced jobs etc. h**l, in Alaska you can live off the land. She's only been out of the country once her life! She has no connections in congress, wall street or industry except for the oil industry. This is all heightened by the fact she would be the vice to the oldest president. She has no foreign experience at all, when are already in 2 wars and could be in another 2 real soon. But the real question is why Mccain picked her. He was desperate and figured he could fool some people especially women.

  6. Upon picking Palin, McCain has injected more excitement and energy into the race.

The next two months will determine whether McCain is indeed a "maverick" or a dangerous "loose cannon."

  7. NOW ALL YA HAVE TO DO IS CONVINCE ME THAT OBAMA IS EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO TAKE THE HELM

  8. well, i think the right DOES see truth, and they find it difficult to defend, so instead of acknowledging said truths, they (as is their wont) go on the offensive and attack obama/biden, thus deflecting criticism away from sarah. It's straight out of the republican's campaign playbook, page one, paragraph one: Attack, attack, attack at all times. Repeat talking points/attacks so often (even if untrue and/or outlandish) that the public begins to have doubts.

  9. Vote Osama and he will save you!  HE WILL!  He's the Messiah with more experience than anyone has ever seen in this lifetime! He has so much experience that it's squirting out...busting AT THE SEAMS!
