  1. Ark lamps are used in beacons and lighthouses

    Commercially, they are limited  domestically by practical wattage considerations .. (safety)


  2.   Need a little care here.

      If you define bulb as being a clear material enclosed object for a length of time, then probably halogen bulb capsules using in stage and theater lighting are the brightest.

      If you are talking about most peak light, then one of the large strobe lights used for high speed image capture are the brightest, but only for a few thousandths of a second.

      If you are talking about brightest continuous source, then the arc lights used for film work, most often seen shining on the sky at openings, but they are not bulbs but open electrical arcs which give off lots of fumes that can be seen when they are used outdoors.


  3. I dont know the answer to that but I used to have one that was rated at 1000 w.

    And that was bright as heck

    I think it was either used as a stage light or left over from the war air raid searchlight.

    It was in a massive metal case and it got red hot within minutes


  4. The brightest light bulb in the world is brighte than the sun and it is so bright that the guy you built it only saw it turn on once becuase he was blinded the first time he tryed it
