  1. 3 x 33 and a third !

  2. 33 each.

    33 + 33 + 33 = 99.

The 1 leftover can be given to the winner of a game of chance (i.e Rock/Paper/Scissors, or Odds/Evens)

  3. It helps if the actual question is quoted here.

But it doesn't appear that the word "evenly" is used here.  If 100 shares were divided evenly among 3 people, yes, it would be 33 and a third shares.

But it simply says, "How can 100 shares be distributed amongst the 3?"

If that's the case, you can divide it any way you want ... 50/25/25, or 40/30/30 or 10/10/80 .... or any other combination you can think of.

It doesn't say anything about everyone getting an equal number of shares.

    Best wishes.

  4. You haven't told me of any ways you need to use (or can't use) to solve this, so the easiest way to divide (or distribute) 100 shares among 3 people (I'm assuming it's people - you didn't say) is each person get 33 shares, and find some way of sharing the last one.  You can give it away, draw straws to find out who gets it, divide any proceeds from that share equally.
