How can Amazon UK be allowed to sell and despatch import cds and dvds within UK?

As I understand, nobody is allowed to stock or sell any import cds or dvds other than Region 2 (UK/EU) in UK. I know HMV does aswell so why is it not allowed on ebay according to BrandsSentinel who removes these listings? (TRAP) What is the difference? I know thats really 3 questions :p Any information greatly appreciated.

Umm - anyone can import CD's into the UK, you just order them from a foreign country and they are sent to you! Like in the Sates, the importer can refuse to allow some organisations/business to sell their products. It is just free trade
