Fox hunting with hounds was banned in UK due to it being considered inhumane. How come Bull fighting is still allowed to continue? Why have people NOT got up in arms about the inhumanity and cruelty of it?

  1. because they think it's lots of fun seeing a man with a red flag trying to tease a bull into running him over and injuring himself. it's a form of entertainment for them. think back to Roman times with the gladiators fighting one another. exactly the same principle here.

  2. I am against it. Definitely it must stop.

    I love Spain though.

  3. Because its a traditional part of Spanish Culture and valued as just that. Fox hunting was almost a sectarian activity enjoyed by the rich and upperclasses. I am aware that some hunts were becoming more open and less gentrified, but not quick enough. Maybe it would be a bit different if we had an annual hunt across the UK where we all took part and it became part of our calendar.

To be honest I have no opinion on this subject. Yes animals are lovely and all, but once we have cured world hunger, housed the homeless made poverty history etc.. then we can maybe start looking at the poor fluffy and not so fluffy animals. I think out priorities are skewed when it comes to animals. If you (not you personally) donate the amount of money you spend each year on a pet and send it to help provide food shelter and education to a third world country.

At least when the Bulls dead you can chow down on it!

  4. Bull fighting is here to stay. Calgary Stampede isn't going anywhere either. Get with the program.

  5. But is it kosher?

  6. Because its more fun than fox hunting, and lots more people can watch it.

  7. Because Spain is not a part of the UK.

  8. Even though I do not like hunting...I still believe that Fox Hunting should not have been banned. It is apart of our country's 'country life' tradition. Also the only reason it was banned was to distract people from the utter mess that was going on in Iraq at the time. It was the only promise Blair and his Labour loonies kept.

Bull fighting may be a horrible thing and a cruel thing to do but why should spain or any other country (it is not just in Spain they have bull fighting) ban it. It is apart of their tradition and culture.

Maybe it is best to place more controls on such 'sports' as bull fighting and fox hunting in a similar way they place controls on Whale hunting and seal culling. They have seasonal hunting in places such as America and Canada. Maybe that is a way to do it?!?!?! But I do not agree with banning it.

  9. What right have you got to impose your beliefs on another country ?

  10. Places like Spain and Mexico consider it a cultural tradition, it is not pretty at all, but only a small percentage is against it. c**k fighting in the Caribbean is also rampant, but again it is considered cultural and not enough people to protest. It is barbaric and useless.
