  1. Your poor spelling skills may be more of a problem than color blindness.  Airline companies' HR departments get hundreds of applications per week.  They are looking for excuses to reject applications, and misspelled words are an easy target. Get yourself an education, and PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS!

  2. Hello - basically, the law in the UK works like this:

When you go to get your class one medical, you will be presented with a set of "plates" with lots of coloured dots on them (you may or may not have had this when you go to the opticians). - You can see the plates here if you want to have a go yourself: http://colorvisiontesting.com/ishihara.h...

If you fail any of these, then you will do a "lantern test". I'm lucky enough not to have had a problem with my colour vision (and I've only got my class 2 at the moment - class 1's are expensive!), but i believe they shine lights of different colours into your eyes and ask you what colours they are. You get more than one chance at each, and most people find the lantern test easier than the plates. The FAA in the USA are generally seen to be more lenient than JAA states (Europe etc.) so if you fail JAA, all is not necessarily lost!

I have a website myself (shameless plug I know!) which might help you a bit otherwise: http://www.flyfortheairlines.com

The CAA have a telephone number for free medical advice (if you live in the UK), so it might be worth giving them a phone call.

    Best of luck!!

  3. Yes.

  4. The only way it will effect you is that you will have to get a Medical waiver from the FAA medical examiner stating that you are capable of flying with color blindness. You will be limited to VFR aircraft though, so I'm not so sure you will be able to receive your ATP.

  5. well can u tell the differnece between red green white blue and all the other color lights on the runway??  you may try and taxi down the runway and take off from the taxiway

  6. Colour blindness will affect the way you can identify alarms and readings. Blue colour is used to identify normal operation of valves and other systems. Brown or shades of brown (as amber) will show systems not in commanded positions or system cautions.

I don't know your country civil aviation rules on colour blindness but it might end not allowing you to fly as a commercial pilot. In most cases, colour blindness is assessed and you might fly as a private pilot.
