I have a tv and a projector that I would like to hook up to one dvd player and switch between at will without having to unplug anything. I know of splitters with multiple video in to 1 video out (to hook up multiple devices to one tv) but have no idea how to do it this way. Could I have the signal playing on both and simply turn the one off I dont want? Please let me know what you all think thanks.

  1. yes you can. use this website  its called wikipedia

  2. Most good DVD players have more than one video output, so you should be able to hook up both at the same time.  If the outputs are analog (S-Video, Component Video or Composite Video) then you will be fine.  The only issue is that if one of the hookups is HDMI, some DVD players will shut off the analog outputs when the HDMI is on. But, as long as the HDMI source is turned off (so that there is no HDMI handshake), then the other source should receive signal.

  3. You need an HDMI splitter with one input and 2 outputs. It should be easy for you to find one.
