I live in Atlanta, Georgia- a major tourist spot! My background consists of Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Customer Service, and Advertising. For some reason, I'm having difficulty making it into the Hotel Industry. I have a diploma in Business Management and I'm making plans to earn my Master's Degree. What can I do to show that I have potential? Unconventional, but serious answers are Welcome...

  1. When you describe yourself  to a prospective employer focus more on what you can do for them and less on what you have done. For example: Having experience in sales; I will be able to assist in bringing in more corporate accounts.

Also set yourself apart; send a thank yo letter for meeting with you. Tell them you are excited about the opportunity. Then ask for the job.

Also go after positions in organizatipns that are not advertising that they are hiring. Less competition and in this field opening occur constantly.

    Good Luck
