Question:

How can I access files on other computers not on my home network for free?

I dont think the map network drive does it....I tried but i can only get the computers on my home network but not the laptop which is on a different network with a different IP. Is there a free way that I can get the laptop files into the desktop without any viruses etc?

I use Microsoft Office Live Workspace.  It's a free and easy to use.  You can upload any Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, etc files onto there servers, and you can access them on any computer.  You can download them right to your desktop, re-edit them, and upload them right back into the Workspace.

    So you can access it on your laptop and transfer documents to your desktop.

    You do not need a Windows ID (or a Windows Live E-mail account)
