How can I access my exchange email in a way other than through the web?

My school's exchange server mail can be accessed by the URL:

http://exchange.nist.ac.th/exchange/

However, is there a way I can access it natively on a mail app like outlook or apple mail. If so, how?

  1. Ignore the answers about pop accounts, Exchage has imap support.

You can use Thunderbird via an imap connection, I have done this for some of my customers.

Enter the servername as exchange.nist.ac.th  for both the outgoing and incoming server.

You will need some experimentation with some of the other settings, but it looks like you have security as none.

I have assumed you are on the same LAN as the exchange server, if the above doesn't work, try -

    Start>run>  cmd

    ping exchange.nist.ac.th

note the ip address and then use that in place of the server name.

  2. u should have a POP access

tell your administration to give you their pop/smtp settings.

  3. You can. There is information you need though. You need to know the pop3 mail server and smtp server (probably the same). You can the open your outlook, go to accounts and add an account.  You'll need to  put in your user name, password, the pop3 server and smtp server and various other information it will ask for. Your school's it department should be able to help with the setup.

  4. Well what you have to do is contact your email administrator and get the mail server information from them.

Once received you should be able to use the Add New Mailbox/Account function in Outlook to walk through adding your mailbox.

But in most cases, especially for schools and businesses.. you can not access Exchange without being on the Local Network (LAN), and in this case you might be required to install a VPN Client, which will enable you to safely and securely access your schools LAN, where your email server resides... hence why there is a Web interface for it in the first place... so accessing directly might not be an option... just a heads up.
