Question:

How can I acheive better sleep?

PLease help if anyone knows secrets or cures. I have a lot of trouble sleeping. It's been getting a lot worse lately and I often wake up in the middle of the night or some outside factor like noise wakes me up. Ugh! It's affecting my work performance because I will become sleepy again around 4 pm and feel really sluggish. I even keep it cold in my room as well... I have a new bed and mattress so I don't believe that is the problem they are less than a year old and have only been slept on for about 4 months. What can I do to sleep better and feel more well rested in the morning?

  1. Ever tried drinking hot tea or any other warm drink before going to sleep? I always feel wonderful when I do that cuddled up in bed. You could try meditation, also. Play gentle ambient music while you sleep, or keep the air on in the house like I do to drown out the little noises. Can't sleep without the air on...every little noise would drive me crazy! Keeping an extra fan near the head of your bed would help with louder sounds. Heck, you could even try soft eat plugs! With your alarm clock very close by, of course. lol. I really hope this helps!


  2. Before you head to bed, try to do more relaxing things like reading a book or a magazine and try to stay away from being on the computer or watching tv. Make sure your room is dark and if you keep a cell phone by your bed, make sure that it's off. All the waves coming and going from it will not help your brain calm down at all. Hope I helped!

  3. Drink a french connection before you go to sleep.
