How can I adapt a 12v light to plug into 110v?

  1. Like timmy said, a transformer will do the trick.

    Remember, you're going from 110v AC to 12v DC.  At least I assume the light is DC.

    The light should already have a place where it screws into and the base of that unit would have a round plug for the adapter to plug into.

    So getting a transformer that has the correct plug would be essential.  Also since it is DC, you need to see if it matters which side gets the positive and which gets the negative terminal.

    Good luck.  It's not as hard as it sounds, but you want to do it right.


  2. You'll need a transformer. You should be able to get one at Home Depot or an electric supply or lamp parts store.

    You may have to have a professional do it so the connection is secure and molded, otherwise you wont have a UL rating and it might be dangerous. 12V is the most common voltage transformer so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
