I have 4 male gerbils and I would like to add a second level to their tank. The tank is very high so I can add a level to it. Now what materials do I need and how do I do the job? And by the way its a glass tank.

  1. i agree with kasey, just get a tank topper. then you don't have to worry about if it'll fit correctly, if somehow you'll hurt the tank, etc. they make tank topper for at least 10 and 20 gallon tanks.

  2. I wouldn't recommend trying to build a second lever in there, unless you just drop some wood in and build a shelf that sits on the floor.

Maybe try a tank topper, like the ones here: http://www.critter-cages.com/index.php?m...

  3. get a THICK cardboard box and make sure it is completely sealed/ shut... cut out only one side (the side facing u when u are looking at the tank. then you put litter on the bottom of the box so it has the box inside the tank, the bottom of the box is the floor of their cage and then on top of the box is a whole other floor! Its cheap and it works! (oh and you might want to cut a hole in the top of the box so they can get up and down. You can use different climbing/ ramp stuff as the "stairs".
