How can I add solid material to a solution under an inert gas ? How about a solution under vacuum?

  1. not sure what you're asking but if it's what I think:

    you have a humidity/air sensitive solid and solution and you need to mix them.

    first idea would be adding the solution to the solid-------you place the solid in some vial you can degass before adding the solvent with a cannula or a dry syringe (i prefer the cannula solution)

    another way would be adding some solvent to the solid and when it dissolves adding it to the solution as described above

    if your solution is not extremely sensitive it is ok to open the vial and add the solid as long as there is gas flow.

    I guess a good idea might be a glove bag (there are disposable ones ~20$) which you fill with a gas (nitrogen or argon) and work freely, though i don't know how much you can trust them.
