  1. First, consider the time  situation.  I assume you are young as it sounds like you live with your mom.   Chihuahuas live for a LONG time.  Who takes care of the dog if you go to college?  Dogs are EXPENSIVE - vet bills, vet meds, food, toys, etc.  Plus, very few landlords will rent to someone with a dog.

Second, you need to have a discussion with Mom BEFORE you start pulling prices, etc.

Third, don't even THINK about names until Mom gives permission!

Finally, wait until you SEE the dog until you name it.  Some dogs just name themselves :)

  2. where are you going to get the puppy

    ADOPT

  3. Well since its your mom's house its your mom's rules!

Who would take care of it anyway if your in school?

  4. if you do end up getting a dog.

please adopt one from the shelter.

there lots of dogs there and even Chihuahuas.

  5. my dad is really allergic to dogs so when i really wanted a pup i worked really hard to fit the needs of a family. if you are willing to take responsibility for the dog, then write out a list of things you would take care of. maybe like vacuuming the floor, brushing, feeding, taking "out", that type of thing. then let them know how badly you want the puppy. she'll probably understand. when i went to get my puppy we went and visited her then went to dinner and talked about what we thought.good idea on the price list! show her what it would cost and see if you can help. be sure when you ask her that it is a good time and she isn't on the phone or anything like that. if she says you can get the dog, tell her thank you right away so she knows you're really serious about this.as for dog names :if it's a girl: Daisy, Coco, ( my dog's name is Mazie) if it's a boy: Cody, Tyler,

                               I really hope this helped!

                                     Good Luck!!!!!!!

  6. If I understand your question, you want to know what you can say to your mom to convince her to say, "yes."  I'd play the "I will learn so much responsibility" card.  Just be prepared to have your words thrown back at you in January when you have to wake up an extra 30 minutes early to walk and feed the dog... long after the puppy cuteness has worn off and the novelty of having a new dog is gone.

  7. When you ask her make sure you're ready with a comeback to her "A dog is a big responsibility" response. Keep looking for care tips on dogs in general. Get the yes to have the dog first - then pick your breed. Make sure your mom knows that you understand that  the dog will need to be fed bathed watered entertained cleaned up after and that vet bills are usually quite expensive. If you have a job you can tell her that you're going to save up for the dog and pay for food and vet expenses on your own. That's a big plus - if you're mom knows it won't burn a whole in her pocket she's probably more likely to say yes. Good luck.

And a cute name for a Chihuahua is Killer or Cujo. HAHA. Did you ever see the movie Cujo??

  8. I'm not sure how old you are, like if you are ready to handle and take care of a dog. It is a lot of work. Chihuahuas are soo cute and anyway I would still get one. I would appoach ur mom and say "I think I am about old enough to take care of a dog." You have to be straight up with her. Over weekends I would concentrate on training ur dog 24/7 and during school days when u get right home make sure you take care of ur dog. She/he needs alot of attention, so if you might not be up to it, maybe a cat, they are very independent. Maybe you should experience taking care of a virtual pet like Webkinz. Or adopt the dog and in a week if you decide you can not handle it and it's too much work then I think the chihuahua would be better where it was. Goodluck.
